Personal Project | Silhouettes | August 4 on 4

Summer has come and gone… we are back to school already! It was a good summer. We visited Colorado and Michigan. We swam. And swam. And swam. We ate lots of pizza and ice cream. Perfect summer, right?!

One of my personal mini-projects for the summer was to try and capture some darker, moodier, almost silhouette-type images of my kiddos. Just something different from my norm. I love a good, bright, perfectly exposed image… But sometimes I get so caught up in “all that” and I forget the beauty in a simple silhouette. So here are a few of my favorites for this August’s 4-on-4 project (4 photos on the 4th of each month). How do you try to mix it up when you are in a photography slump?

Hey, don’t forget to hop on over and check out Emily’s 4-on-4 too!

  • Oh, I love that you’re trying some different styles with photography! The textures and light take on a life of their own.

Also, did you have to protect your camera much from all the splashing and water?!ReplyCancel

I probably should have tried to protect my camera more! But, really, I just tried to turn away when the moment my daughter would splash into the pool. I’m sort of hard on my camera.ReplyCancel
