Hellllooo! As promised I’m back with details on some of my favorite “urban” locations! (Just in case you missed the first part of this series, make sure to check out my favorite park locations for pictures too). I have to admit, I get sorta excited when a family or high school senior wants to do an urban area for pictures.
I love shooting urban all seasons of the year. But I especially recommend it to my families and seniors in the winter or early spring (after the leaves fall or before the grass turns green), because all the urban color and texture gives your images such a fun, vibrant feel. There are SO many urban areas to photograph in the Indy area. I am only including the areas that I am most familiar with, and in general, just really like shooting at:
1. Downtown Indianapolis on the Canal: Depending on which end (of the canal) that you start at, there is a huge variety of places to photograph. I don’t think I could ever tire of photographing families and seniors on the canal in Indianapolis.
2. Downtown Noblesville: This is a fun place to photograph. Bonus, there’s a cute little ice cream shop on the Noblesville Square, Alexanders, that you can take the kids to after the photo shoot (Hey, I’m not opposed to a little bribery, ha!)
3. Downtown Zionsville: I love shooting here. If you haven’t visited Downtown Zionsville, put this one on your list! Downtown Zionsville has a lot of charm to it. Like the other urban locations, every session I shoot here is so different because of huge variety of backdrops.
4. Downtown Fishers: I don’t go here as often, but I like to offer this option to my families who live in Fishers. Below we just picked a random alley way to photograph in and I just loved how this session turned out!
Next up: check out my favorite park locations for pictures in the Noblesville, Carmel, Fishers area!
